May 1, 2008 – Nominations have been called for the 2009 World Potato Congress Awards.

The awards are an important and prestigious event on the international potato scene, recognizing lifetime contributions from individuals to the potato industry.

Four outstanding individuals are typically recognized during the awards presentation ceremony, held during the tri-annual Congress.

The next World Potato Congress is being held in Christchurch, New Zealand, during March 2009.

Written nominations are invited for submission. The application form and submission instructions appear on the World Potato Congress website .

Applications close October 31, 2008. The awards committee will assess all written applications and make appropriate recommendations to the WPC board.
