Potato harvest off to slow start
Officials with the P.E.I. Potato Board say wet weather
over the weekend has shut down the potato harvest on some farms in the western
part of the province.

Charlottetown, PEI – Officials with the P.E.I. Potato Board say wet weather
over the weekend has shut down the potato harvest on some farms in the western
part of the province.
In addition to losing
portions of their crop to flooded fields, farmers are also worried about pink
rot, a fungal disease that thrives in wet soil.
