New Varieties 2020: What’s new for the upcoming growing season
March 2, 2020 By Fruit and Vegetable Staff
Every year, Fruit and Vegetable magazine publishes a select list of new varieties. The list includes new varieties of fruits and vegetables, everything from watermelon to peppers, that will be available to growers in the 2020 growing season.
In 2020, look out for purple-skinned potatoes in High Mowing Organic’s Huckleberry Gold variety or the “Mini Bee” watermelon, a personal 6 to 8 count watermelon variety from Siegers Seeds (now Stokes Seeds).
Take a look at the resource below and browse through what varieties are available. The company that produces the variety is listed below the variety’s description.
It is important to note that Stokes Seeds acquired Siegers Seed Company on Dec. 19, 2019. The upcoming 2020 sales season will be a transition year, so Fruit and Vegetable magazine opted to maintain credit to Siegers Seeds on their varieties for clarity. Moving forward, both companies will be business under the Stokes Seeds brand.
