New board of directors elected for Grape Growers of Ontario

Grape Growers of Ontario (GGO) has announced the organization’s board of directors and grower committee for 2025-2026. This includes the re-election of chair Matthias Oppenlaender and vice-chair Kevin Watson.
Oppenlaender has held the position of chair since 2016 and represents GGO on the Ontario Fruit & Vegetable Growers’ Association. He also serves as chair for Ontario Grape and Wine Research Inc., a non-profit organization that coordinates research initiatives for Ontario’s grape and wine industry.
Watson was elected as vice-chair in 2022, and acts as the GGO representative on F.A.R.M.S. and Ontario Wine Appellation Authority’s board of directors.
Grape Growers of Ontario represents over 500 grape growers with 18,000 vineyard acres in Ontario.
