May 26, 2009 – Canadian produce retailers and distributors are reluctant to endorse the U.S. Produce Traceability Initiative (PTI).
According to a recent report in The Packer, they won’t endorse the PTI timeline but remain supportive of U.S. implementation.

The PTI, seeking voluntary compliance for standard, case-level traceability for the supply chain, is a joint project launched in October 2007 by the Canadian Produce Marketing Association, the United Fresh Produce Association, and the Produce Marketing Association.
