is hosting its third annual industry event – Agri-Traceabilty 2009 –
May 11 at the Delta Hotel, Guelph, Ont.

This year’s focus is on current issues, ideas and advances in Ontario’s traceability industry.

The conference will feature two very relevant and thought provoking keynote presentations from veterans of the agricultural and food industries – Dr. David Sparling, faculty chair of agri-food innovation and regulation at the Richard Ivey School of Business Today, and Fred Lawlor, vice president of global procurement for Fairmont Raffles Hotels International.

Dr. Sparling will become the faculty chair at the Richard Ivey School of Business Today on August 1, 2009. He will be speaking on the value chain view of traceability.

Fred Lawlor brings to this event more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality sector in areas that included food procurement and food service. In 2007, he led the establishment of Avendra in Canada, the largest hospitality procurement company in the world today. Lawlor will offer his perspective on the changing food purchasing landscape and supply chain logistics and traceability in the hospitality sector both domestically and internationally.
