Ont – Migrant workers who were out of pocket following the closure of a major
farming operation southwest of Simcoe will be fully compensated for lost wages.
Anthony Sanchez, a labour
counsellor at the Trinidadian consulate in Mississauga, said that the Ontario
Ministry of Labour and the federal government have programs in place to
compensate workers for outstanding pay when an employer is forced into a creditor
proceeding.
