CBC: Prolonged cold hit B.C. vineyards hard

Extreme weather over the past few years, including an exceptionally cold winter this year, is predicted to have a significant impact on wine grape production in B.C.’s Okanagan Valley.

According to CBC, Wine Growers B.C. forecasts a 39 to 56 per cent drop in wine and grape production this year. The amount of damage varies by variety and vineyard – some vineyards have seen 10 to 15 per cent bud damage, whereas there are others where the crop is a total loss. |READ MORE
