Sept. 21, 2011, Rocky Ford – Farmers in the town of Rocky Ford say cantaloupes aren't the only crop that have suffered a sales hit from a multistate listeria outbreak that has killed at least four people.
Colorado health officials have said lab tests linked the outbreak to a single farm in Holly — Jensen Farms — that sold melons labeled with the Rocky Ford description. Jensen Farms has recalled its cantaloupes, and farm owners have hired a food safety expert to determine how the problem occurred and how to fix it.
