New winery is first in 17 years

August 10, 2009, St. Catharine’s, Ont. – For weeks, tourists with an Ontario wine route map in hand have looked for 13th Street Winery on Fourth Avenue in St. Catharines.

But the first winery to open in the Garden City in 17 years wasn't quite ready. Instead, wine lovers were funnelled back to 13th Street in Jordan, where the tiny tasting room and production space have been tucked away out of the spotlight since opening in 1998.
