On Dec. 6, the board of directors of the Canadian Agricultural Human Resource Council (CAHRC) announced that Jennifer Wright has been appointed to the role of executive director.
Wright grew up working in her family’s farm equipment dealership and helping on the farm in southwestern Ontario. She has worked in the field of human resource research and development for more than twenty years, and has worked with several industries, including agriculture, leading initiatives related to inclusion and diversity, recruitment and retention, work integrated learning, labour market research, skills development, and training and education. In addition to her work experience, she holds a masters of business administration from Royal Roads University in Victoria, B.C.
“Jennifer’s strategic leadership experience, combined with her roots in agriculture, will prove critical in CAHRC’s efforts to support the Canadian agriculture industry through current and future workforce needs,” said Paul Glenn, CAHRC chair, in a press release. “Her extensive background in workforce development, stakeholder engagement and human resource management will benefit the organization and the Canadian agriculture industry.”
Wright worked with CAHRC as a consultant for more than ten years before joining the staff in 2019. In April 2021, she was appointed to the role of acting executive director.
