B.C. hail damage not as bad as first thought

October 2, 2013, Kelowna, BC – A short but fierce early-morning hailstorm had Kelowna apple grower Fred Steele expecting the worst when he went out to inspect his orchard.
Steele, who operates a farm in Glenmore, initially feared he might have lost more than half his crop to the hailstones. But closer inspection, in the company of an provincial agricultural service fieldman, determined the losses were less than 10 per cent. READ MORE
