Webinar archive: Understanding and managing aphids

Better defend your tree fruit operation from aphids by gaining a more thorough understanding of the insect and its current control methods.

In this 60-minute webinar, Hannah Fraser, entomologist with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, discusses aphids and how they impact tree fruits in Canada. Fraser provides an overview of basic aphid biology, including reproduction, as it relates to time, seasonal movement and buildup in crops. She also discusses plant-aphid interactions, direct and indirect injury, integrated pest management and biological control, common problem species as well as insecticide groups targeting aphids, registered in Canada, in context of resistance management.
