Dr. Daniel Roberts

On September 2, viticultural and winemaking consultant Dr. Daniel Roberts of Sebastopol, Calif., will be taking part in a full day of vineyard visits around the Niagara area. Four different vineyard stops are on the schedule, providing participants an opportunity to discuss issues affecting their vineyards.

The tour begins at 9 a.m. at Klose Vineyards, located at 1568 Line 2 near Niagara-on-the-Lake. A full itinerary is available at Brock University’s Cool Climate and Viticulture Institute web site.

On the evening of September 3, growers can hear more from Dr. Roberts during the 5th annual Triggs International Premium Lecture, being held at Brock University. Dr. Roberts’ lecture is entitled Rootstock, Ripping and Water and is being held in Academic South 204 starting at 7:30 p.m. A reception will follow the lecture.
