ToBRFV presentations from PROCINORTE now available

January 6, 2021  By Fruit and Vegetable

Several presentations from PROCINORTE’s Sept. 29-30 virtual workshop on Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV) are now available. The presentations cover topics such as biosecurity, ToBRFV transmission, diagnosis techniques and disease management.

ToBRFV is a recently discovered disease of the Tobamovirus family, and its main hosts are tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) and sweet pepper (Capsicum annuum L.). While it isn’t a food safety risk, ToBRFV has the potential to significantly affect production and marketability of infected crops.

PROCINORTE – the Cooperative Program in Research and Technology for the Northern Region – is a network of federal agricultural, agri-food and food system research bodies in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
