The PMRA (Pest Management Regulatory Agency) has announced an extension of the registration of Thimet 15G (Phorate) for one additional year. This extension prolongs the use date of Thimet, registered to control wireworm on potatoes, to December 31, 2007, with the purchase and sales date for retailers as May 1, 2007. This extension will hopefully allow for the development of transition strategies for the management of this pest. During this time, Engage Agro will continue to be the Canadian marketing and sales agent for Thimet 15G.
For more information on the PMRA extension and distribution of Thimet, please contact Stuart Cullen at Engage Agro at 1-519-826-7878, ext 246.
