The Organic Council of Ontario wants your input on inputs

April 29, 2019  By Organic Council of Ontario

Access to clear information about approved organic inputs limits the growth of the organic sector in Canada.

The Organic Council of Ontario (OCO) invites input suppliers, organic producers/operators, and industry consultants (agronomists, veterinarians, organic consultants etc.) to tell us how Canada’s current system of input review affects your work. Online consultations will be held May 1 to 9, 2019, featuring:

  • A brief overview of the current input approval system in Canada, and the key issues limiting sector growth
  • An opportunity to share your experiences and thoughts on input approval in Ontario and Canada

OCO is conducting these consultations on behalf of the Organics Value Chain Roundtable Taskforce on Inputs. The results will contribute to a report on the feasibility of creating a national database that is sustainable and comprehensive. Recommendations will be shared with the OVCRT and CFIA.
