October 28, 2008, Halifax, N.S. – Quality members, quality product and quality Nova Scotia experiences are the foundation of Taste of Nova Scotia. To recognize this excellence, on November 6, 2008, seven members will be honoured with Taste of Nova Scotia Prestige Awards at the Prince George Hotel in Halifax.

“We have over 100 quality reasons for people to love the ‘Taste’ of Nova Scotia… and they can be experienced through any one of our valued members,” says Janice Ruddock, executive director of Taste of Nova Scotia. “The Prestige Awards is an opportunity to identify and emphasize members’ commitment to that quality and their outstanding achievements in the Nova Scotia food and wine industry.”

The first annual Prestige Awards recognizes distinction in the following seven categories: Innovative Product of the Year, Exporter of the Year, Quality Driven Member of the Year, Restaurant Server of the Year, Cuisine of the Year, Restaurant of the Year and Taste of Nova Scotia Member of the Year.

Nominees were selected by committee and approved by the Taste of Nova Scotia board of directors. Commitment to improving business and promoting culinary excellence in Nova Scotia were the main criteria considered in the decision-making process.
