September 3, 2008, Stratford, Ont. – Hot on the heels of its successful 2007 inaugural event, the second annual Stratford Garlic Festival is poised to present 45 exhibitors/vendors, each with an original take on the garlic experience.
On Saturday, September 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the old Stratford fairgrounds, garlic producers will be on hand to sell a winter’s supply of Ontario garlic to the public, help instruct them on how to make a garlic braid, and market various garlic products.
There will also be dancing, cooking, singing, clowning and some inspired speaking, including a presentation by Ted “The Garlic Man” Maczka, called “My Love Affair with Garlic.”
More than 90 per cent of the garlic available during the festival will be from within a 100-mile radius of Stratford.
The garlic festival is presented by the Garlic Growers’ Association of Ontario in partnership with the Kiwanis Club of Stratford.
