Safe Vegetable Screening System
Hanson Technologies, Inc., recently introduced its Hanson Technologies Safe Vegetable Screening System (HSVS-1000), a patent-pending, end-to-end solution for the ultra rapid detection of pathogens in fresh-cut produce without culturing. The HSVS-1000 can simultaneously screen for multiple pathogens, allergens and toxins, including E.coli O157:H7 and Salmonella, in two hours or less utilizing large sample sizes. For maximum safety and quality assurance, Hanson Technologies’ solution enables both in-process and field screening without culturing. This includes:
• UltraRapid™ screening of “in-process” wash water used during in-plant processing operations
• UltraRapid™ screening of field-sampled vegetables prior to harvest
• UltraRapid™ screening of fresh-cut produce immediately prior to packing and shipping
Hanson Technologies is actively seeking pilot sites for validation testing of HSVS-1000. The pilot program includes a one-to-two week validation of the technology and on-site support as well as shared data.
