Resources to help participants succeed in the CanadaGAP program
March 15, 2019 By Fruit and Veg magazine
The CanadaGAP website offers many useful resources to help participants succeed in the CanadaGAP program.
The Frequently-Asked Questions (FAQ) section can assist operations seeking to implement requirements related to water testing, personal hygiene facilities, agricultural chemicals and more. By consulting a relevant FAQ, participants can get clarification on program requirements, increase understanding of auditor expectations and improve audit results.
The FAQ section also contains more general information about program scope, certification options, the audit and corrective actions process, etc.
The CanadaGAP website contains printable resources for producers that can help with program implementation, training employees, working through the CanadaGAP Food Safety Manuals and supplementary information to help assess and manage food safety hazards. These include signs and posters (hand washing, employee illness and chemical storage signs), as well as fact sheets on diverse topics.
The Publications section of the website offers informative brochures to help stakeholders and program participants better understand the basics of CanadaGAP audits, certification options and what to expect when they join CanadaGAP.
