Profits tough crop to grow for some B.C. farmers

to have her South Surrey blueberry farm certified organic, she knew there was a
market for her produce, she just couldn’t imagine how overwhelming the demand
would be.

to have her South Surrey blueberry farm certified organic, she knew there was a
market for her produce, she just couldn’t imagine how overwhelming the demand
would be.

All it took was a small ad in the local newspaper and she
was in business. Customers flooded her 1.5 acre farm to get organic
blueberries.

“We were overwhelmed by all the people,” she said. “people
are getting smart about food. They are really concerned about where their food
comes from.”
