Potato harvesters eye disaster relief

much of this year’s crop can be harvested following a long struggle with wet
weather and mud.

Charlottetown, PEI – Members of P.E.I.’s potato industry are waiting to see how
much of this year’s crop can be harvested following a long struggle with wet
weather and mud.

The P.E.I. Potato Board
recently notified the federal government that the province would need disaster
funding and said farmers in the province could lose 10 to 15 per cent of the
85,000-acre potato crop.
