PNW heatwave cripples B.C. horticulture crops

Recent extreme temperatures along the Canadian and American western seaboard have left people and crops alike feeling the heat. Fruit and vegetable growers in British Columbia’s Fraser Valley have been hit hard by the skyrocketing temperatures, with some having to write off entire crops.
Opinider Bhatti of the Fraser Valley Cold Crop Growers Association is calling for the creation of an emergency fund for affected growers. Ben Janz of Janz Berry Farm in Abbotsford has called this “the worst weather-related event he’s experienced in his 25-plus years of farming.” |READ MORE
