P.E.I. potato board chair sees opportunity in exports

a major export role for the Summerside port once potatoes start moving by ship.

December 27, 2010, Summerside, PEI – The new chairman of the
P.E.I. Potato Board sees significant trade possibilities for Island growers and
a major export role for the Summerside port once potatoes start moving by ship. 

Russia is a prime opportunity for Island growers, said the
new chair, Gary Linkletter. That country is purchasing its potatoes from the
European market but those supplies are dwindling.
