P.E.I. grower leads United Potato Growers of Canada

May 12, 2008 – The United Potato
Growers of Canada has elected Ray Keenan of Souris, Prince Edward
Island to the position of chairman.

May 12, 2008 – The United Potato Growers of Canada has elected Ray Keenan of Souris, Prince Edward Island to the position of chairman.

Keenan and his brother, Alvin, operate Rollo Bay Holdings , a family potato farm and packing operation in Eastern P.E.I.

Also on the executive are: Réal Brière (Que.), vice-chairman; Brenda Simmons (P.E.I.), treasurer; and Robert Gareau (New Brunswick), secretary.

United Potato Growers of Canada was formed in 2006 and represents 96 per cent of Canadian potato acreage through potato organizations in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and P.E.I.
