Ontario garlic growers’ field day June 8

April 18, 2013, Scotland, Ont – The Garlic Growers’ Association of Ontario (GGAO) is holding a field day June 8, 2013, at the farm of Bob and Irene Romaniuk – the Brant County Garlic Company – located near Scotland, Ont.

The event gets underway at 9 a.m. with a tour of the University of Guelph’s test plots located on site. Attendees will also have a chance to speak with trade suppliers before lunch. The afternoon is also dedicated to all things garlic with discussions on pest management, clean seed, bulbils, growing methods, and marketing options. A growers’ forum is also scheduled.

Several garlic equipment suppliers will be exhibiting their products during the day, including Agri Distribution J.M. Inc., Dubois Agrinovation, Packing Corporation of America, NNZ Packaging Network, Sylvite Agri Services, Wiltsie Equipment, Vanden Bussche Irrigation and JJ Broch.

Brant County Garlic Company is located at 168 13th Concession Road, west of Scotland, Ont. From Highway 403 east or west, exit at Brant Road 25 and head south through Harley until the 13th Concession, then turn east to #168.
