Ont. apple growers cautiously optimistic for 2013

August 7, 2013, Guelph, Ont — Apple growers across southwestern Ontario say 2013’s crop is likely to completely reverse last year’s dismal yields, but storms continue to batter the apples at some orchards.

Eldon Williams of Williams’ Orchards near Milton, said 2013 “is a much better year.”

“The rest that the trees took (last year) seems to have paid off. We probably have the best crop that we’ve had in quite a few years,” Williams said of the fruit on his four-hectare orchard. READ MORE
