OMAFRA hires horticulture sustainability specialist

Earlier this year, the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) set out to hire a horticulture sustainability specialist for its Agriculture Development Branch. Stephanie Vickers was the successful candidate in the competition. In this position, Vickers will be responsible for co-ordinating projects to assess the applicability of new practices, products, and technologies that address sustainability issues in Ontario’s horticulture sectors, including labour uncertainties, nutrient inputs/outputs, and water and waste management. She began her role on June 27 and is based out of the Vineland Station office. Vickers previously worked for OMAFRA from 2018 t0 2020 as a junior land resource specialist. |READ MORE
