OMAFRA apple specialists break down recent PMRA re-evaluations

ONfruit’s latest Orchard Network newsletter is now available on their website. This issue of the publication for commercial apple growers covers topics like: effects of rootstock on growth and yield; what’s new in the 2021 OMAFRA* Crop Protection Guide for Apples; and information on apple leafcurling midge.
It also includes updates on recent re-evaluation decisions made by the Canadian Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA). The PMRA has released several re-evaluation decisions relevant to apple growers. Kristy Grigg-McGuffin (OMAFRA’s horticulture integrated pest management (IPM) specialist) and Cassandra Russell (OMAFRA’s tree fruit specialist) break down the re-evaluation outcomes and what they mean for apple growers.
