What prorogation means to Ontario farmers
On Oct. 15, 2012 the Ontario legislature was prorogued until further notice. Several Bills that had reached various points in the legislative agenda (from first reading through to Committee) are now abandoned. And, while government operations – including regulation and spending – continue, all legislative reform initiatives will have to wait out a leadership race, and the resumption of the legislature.

Potatoes Researchers create potatoes with higher carotenoids
Potatoes with higher levels of beneficial carotenoids are the result of U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) studies. Scientists with USDA’s Agricultural Research Service (ARS) bred yellow potatoes with carotenoid levels that are two to three times higher than those of the popular Yukon Gold yellow-fleshed potato variety.

Farm inputs higher – Stats Canada
The Farm Input Price Index rose 0.7 per cent in the second quarter, following a 2.7 per cent increase in the first quarter. This was the eighth consecutive quarterly increase for the index.
