November 17, 2008, Durham, N.C. – FoodLogiQ, a provider of on-demand food safety software, and Clarkston Consulting, a management and technology consulting firm, have partnered to deliver a fully integrated “field-to-can” traceability and food safety system.

FoodLogiQ’s traceability and food safety system is designed as a software-as-a-service solution for growers, food manufacturers, grocers and associations. In combination with Clarkston’s management and integration consulting expertise, the FoodLogiQ solution provides food manufacturers the ability to reduce costs and safety risk, while protecting brand image and market share.

“One of the key challenges in the industry has been in providing affordable solutions that easily interconnect growers to manufacturers and manufacturers to grocers so that a product can be easily tracked throughout the entire supply chain and not just within an individual company’s’ walls,” said Mike Fein, managing partner of Clarkston Consulting.

“Traditionally, food safety and traceability solutions are costly to implement and challenging to integrate,” added Andy Kennedy, president of FoodLogiQ. “By leveraging FoodLogiQ technology, an increasingly margin pressured industry can interconnect with their suppliers using a web-based solution for a monthly fee to easily trace products from farm to fork.”

FoodLogiQ and Clarkston Consulting are working with others in the consumer goods industry to streamline agricultural operations with a seamless, field-to-can, web-based traceability and food safety system.

“With the recent Salmonella outbreak and E. coli recall, food safety is of paramount importance, and not just on a national scale,” said Carl Cichetti, CIO of Seneca Foods. “Seneca Foods is pleased to be working with FoodLogiQ and Clarkston Consulting to streamline our agricultural operations with a seamless, field-to-can, web-based traceability and food safety system. We expect a reduction in both our compliance costs and our response time to customer inquiries, and our outlook will be more global.”
