November 4, 2008 – Lon Rombough, the author of the book, The Grape Grower, has released a new, two-disk DVD on pruning grapevines.
The videos take the viewer step-by-step in pruning dormant grapevines to teach them how to prune any grape vine in any situation. The videos teach the basic methods, tell which works best for what grapes, and give the principles behind the methods. With these instructions, the viewer will know how to prune any grape vine, and how to adapt vines to different situations.
Presented in “hands-on” style by Rombough, viewers will see how new and old vines are handled during pruning, and learn the tricks and tips to insure regular crops of the best quality fruit the vine is able to produce.
In the second DVD, viewers get additional material including how to use “two step” pruning to give additional frost protection, how to use layering to get new vines into production in the shortest time possible, and beautiful samples of what grapes can look like when they are properly pruned.
