supernet_microNetafim USA has recently introduced the new SuperNet Micro-Sprinklers with EverSpin Bearing. Developed to provide the longest-lasting micro-sprinkler on the market – the EverSpin Bearing has a layer of sapphire material, one of the hardest, most durable materials known. Placed at the point where the swivel pin meets the bearing’s surface wear-point, the sapphire layer helps to protect this critical area from friction and wear – worn spinners are replaced with less frequency and the costs for labour and replacement parts are reduced. The sapphire material also helps to keep the swivel centred during operation and improves start-up. The EverSpin Bearing is now a standard feature on all SuperNet and SuperNet Jr. Micro-Sprinklers. Retrofitting existing sprinklers with the SuperNet EverSpin bearing is as easy as following the same steps as Netafim SuperNet’s previous model (the EverSpin Bearing is made from the same mould): just insert, twist and lock into place. No tools are required. Other SuperNet and SuperNet Jr. Micro-Sprinkler advantages include delivering a highly uniform application of water and fertilizers – crops needs are met with less pumping and fertilizer applications; a large orifice size to prevent clogging – sprinklers stay spinning longer and less money is spent on maintenance and filtration; irrigating a larger wetting diameter, creating a larger root zone and a larger yield potential; a retractable pop-up spinner prevents insects and debris from entering sprinklers between irrigations – sprinkler stays cleaner internally, reducing maintenance costs, and a stream splitter protecting the tree trunk from getting wet, preventing disease, and reducing replanting of trees.
