Man faces arson charges in fires at McCains

following more than two dozen deliberately set fires at a McCain Foods plant in
southern Manitoba.

southern Manitoba.
RCMP
say firefighters were called to the plant near Carberry on Dec. 7 to deal with
a fire burning in a storage area.

The
blaze was quickly put out, but another three fires were discovered in other
areas of the storage compound.
A
police investigation revealed that there had been 21 other fires on the
potato-processing line and in the cooking oil room since Nov. 10.
James
Shea Stewart of Brandon, Man., faces 25 counts of arson and one count of
mischief.
He
is to appear in Brandon court on Feb. 14.
