Macfrut 2010 offering new “Oscar” prize

“Oscar” prize, too.

Cesena, Italy – For the first time, the fresh produce industry will have its
“Oscar” prize, too.

For the next edition
of Macfrut, the international show of the fruit and vegetable sector which will
be held in Cesena from October 6 to 8, a new initiative has been promoted: the
prize Oscar Macfrut. The award will be presented in four different categories:
machines and technologies for sorting and packaging; packaging and packaging
materials, seeds and fresh fruit and vegetable products; logistics and
services.

The initiative is
based on the need to acknowledge and promote the research in the sector, in
terms of improvements, decrease of costs and “consumer satisfaction.”

The prize will be
awarded according to the judgment of a commission of experts, both visitors and
exhibitors. If two participants receive the same score, the judgment of the
visitors of the show will prevail.
