Late blight threatens P.E.I. potatoes

September 2, 2014, Charlottetown, PEI – Provincial agriculture experts are urging homeowners to destroy any backyard tomato plants presenting with brown spots as late blight shows up in P.E.I.

Provincial and federal agriculture officials are taking measures to protect the province’s potato crops from a new strain of blight – US-23 – that is taking a toll on backyard tomatoes.
