Kemptville trying to find ways to keep college open

March 17, 2014, Ottawa, Ont — Kemptville College’s outgoing director, Claude Naud, was completely surprised by the announcement last week that the near-century-old institution will be closed in a year.
Last week, the University of Guelph announced it would be shuttering its Kemptville and Alfred campuses — eastern Ontario’s only agriculture schools — in 2015 as it tries to cut $32 million from its operating budget.
