Bob Harding, the general manager of the P.E.I. Potato Board , says they got a call from the Nova Scotia Network of Food Banks asking for help.
Harding says the Nova Scotia organization has an urgent need for food.
He adds that the donations are a credit to the Island growers, who are facing tough times themselves.
