saskatoonsThis publication has been prepared to assist new growers in developing their own production cost budgets.

The guide provides details over a 20 year period though the establishment years and continuing into early and mature production years. Income statements and cash flow analysis over this 20-year period are also included in the guide.

Since saskatoon orchards have the potential with proper management to be productive for at least 20 years, it is important to see the profit potential over the lifetime of the orchard.

Other unique features of this guide are a staggered establishment phase over a four-year period (five acres planted per year to achieve a 20 acre orchard size). This gradual establishment phase allows for a more sustainable and manageable situation where various orchard maintenance (e.g. plant pruning) will also be staggered over the life of the orchard.

This resource guide can be viewed as a PDF or in an Excel spreadsheet format.
