Germany upholds warning regarding vegetables

hit Germany and other European nations.

hit Germany and other European nations.

Ilse
Aigner told German ARD Television on that scientists are working nonstop to try
to find out what produce has caused the contamination with an unusual strain of
the common E. coli germ that left 15 dead and about 1,500 infected in Europe.

In
Germany, where most of the victims are, officials say that investigations,
including interviews with patients, have shown that people were likely infected
by eating raw cucumbers, tomatoes or lettuce.

Aigner told consumers to
continue avoiding those vegetables.
