Closing time for Ontario winery

June 15, 2015, Lansdowne, Ont – The Eagle Point Winery, once hailed as the vanguard of investment cash flowing into the Thousand Islands area, has closed for good.

Tom Lawler, former operations manager, said the winery has sold off all of its winemaking equipment and the property on Escott-Rockport is for sale. The grape vines, which have been maturing for six years, will be ripped out or plowed under. READ MORE
