Fruit pickers in B.C. must complete COVID-19 awareness course

June 24, 2020  By Fruit and Vegetable

Seasonal fruit pickers arriving to work on B.C. farms are required to complete a COVID-19 awareness course.

The course is designed for workers coming from other provinces to work in B.C. and is administered online or in-person by AgSafeBC.

The successful completion of the course is required to be able to work in B.C. as a fruit picker or to reside in a B.C. campground site. Workers must complete the course in-person or online and keep proof to show employers. The course is available in English and French.

Workers can access the course online through the AgSafeBC COVID-19 resource page. Through the website, people can also request an in-person version of the presentation on the farm.

The COVID-19 resource page also provides links to French, Spanish, Punjabi and Vietnamese resources for B.C. employers.
