Frosty weather throws a scare into grape growers

Cold temperatures over the Thanksgiving weekend sent some
grape growers running into the vineyards to pick fruit in case more frosty
weather strikes.

October 16, 2009, St.
Catharines, Ont. – Cold temperatures over the Thanksgiving weekend sent some
grape growers running into the vineyards to pick fruit in case more frosty
weather strikes.

The mercury plummeted to
-3°C in parts of Niagara late Oct. 11 and into the early morning of Oct. 12,
causing some frost damage to grapevine leaves.
