Ontario Agri-Food Education has resources for Canadian Agriculture Literacy Week

December 13, 2012  By OAFE

December 2012 – Agriculture will come alive in Canadian classrooms as students participate in activities to learn about, connect to and understand the agricultural industry. Events and activities will run throughout the week, to celebrate the fact that agriculture is all around us, everyday!

In 2012, Agriculture in the Classroom-Canada worked collectively on the initiative to declare one week in early March as the Canadian Agriculture Literacy Week. This hands-on program will encourage students to learn about and celebrate agriculture in various ways, including reading about farming, watching videos, and meeting with farmers and other agricultural representatives.

This project initiative was made possible through generous core funding from Farm Credit Canada.
