Canada’s organic agriculture industry is getting a $1.3-million boost from the federal government, aimed at helping accelerate the sector’s growth in Canada.

The funding, provided under the national Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Advancing Canadian Agriculture and Food (ACAAF) program,
includes $711,500 to help the industry’s major research arm at the Organic Agriculture Centre of Canada in Truro, N.S., to better identify research needs and to more effectively communicate research results back to the sector.
