potatoPotato producers in New Brunswick have been facing an oversupply of tubers for the past three to four years while recent oil and energy price increases have led to a jump in production costs.

According to a recent article in the Bugle-Observer, based in Woodstock, N.B., some growers are publicly questioning Potatoes New Brunswick, claiming the organization is not taking an active enough role in marketing the province’s potato production and helping its members solve the chronic problem of potato overproduction.
