A message from Fruit and Vegetable

This issue of Fruit & Vegetable covers an unusual form of waste management practiced by an orchardist in the Niagara region: turning discarded fruit into alcohol. We also recap the first in-person Canadian Fruit & Vegetable Summit, and Ronda Payne covers B.C.'s FarmFolk City Folk and their bi-annual seed saving forum, including the importance of regional-suited seed to the future of horticulture. As well, Michelle Cortens of Perennia emphasizes the importance of pre-harvest management to the success of a crop in storage. It's less complicated than time travel, after all.
