Dr. Isabelle Lesschaeve joins Vineland

appointment of Dr. Isabelle Lesschaeve to the new role of research
chair, sensory and consumer sciences.

November 3, 2008, Vineland, Ont. – Vineland Research and Innovation Centre recently announced the appointment of Dr. Isabelle Lesschaeve to the new role of research chair, sensory and consumer sciences.

In this new role, Dr. Lesschaeve will work closely with consumer researchers, plant breeders, production researchers and stored products specialists, along with the rest of the Vineland team, to build upon current research in the areas of horticulture breeding, production and yield security.

This role will also work to develop collaborate research programs with academia and both the public and private sectors in order to share expertise and knowledge as well as establish research protocols that meet the highest international standards of excellence.

Prior to joining Vineland, Dr. Lesschaeve was the director of the Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute (CCOVI) and an associate professor in the biological sciences department at Brock University.

Dr. Lesschaeve earned her Ph.D. in food science from Burgundy University (France). She has 20 years of experience in sensory and consumer sciences with a focus on food and beverages. She has conducted multi-disciplinary research in both academic and corporate environments within Canada and abroad.
