The Canadian Greenhouse Conference, being held October 8 to 9, 2008 at the Toronto International Centre, is marking the milestone with a pair of high profile speakers with timely messages for the agriculture community. Leona Dombrowsky, Ontario Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA), will help officially open the conference. And this year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Patrick Moore, a leader in the international environmental field for over 30 years.

Dr. Moore is well known for revealing the myths and misinformation that distort current environmental debates. He calls for issues to be discussed on the basis of accurate scientific data, a search for consensus and the creation of sustainable solutions.

Moore was a founding member and former president of Greenpeace. He left the organization many years ago and currently is the chair and chief scientist of the environmental consulting firm, Greenspirit Strategies.

An informed, provocative speaker, Dr. Moore's presentations inspire new ways of thinking about environmental challenges. He has played a prominent role in raising environmentalism to the forefront of public concern in Canada and throughout the world.
